For understanding of Hermione's character with feminist perspective first of all we need to understand what is the feminism.
What is Feminism?
Feminism is simply the quest for the equality of the sexes, yet it provokes strong reactions. Discover the history of the term and find out how the WLM developed and tackled some of the most fundamental feminist questions, such as what it means to be a woman.
Feminism is a range of political movements, ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal: to define, establish, and achieve political, economic, personal, and social equality of sexes.
Feminist reading of Hermione's character:
J. K. Rowling gave the women of the wizarding world a range of characteristics and personality traits, instead of pigeonholing them in to the progressive female stereotype of independent, loud and smart. Character of Hermione Fits all the stereotype. She is not the only women who plays key role in the series of Harry Potter but she is become role model for young generation women to read, regardless of her stereotype.
Character of Hermione is become real feminine Heroine of the novel because she decides to be a brave girls, for that she works hard and she never apologizes for the fact that her goal is to be very extremely good at this 'wizard' deal. Hermione is intellectual and bright girl.
Hermione not only as a strong female character, but also she is as a stronger feminist protagonist in her own right. Hermione's character is more stronger then other character. She also remember all the lesson which she study and also do the experiment on it.
Author Meredith Cherland points out that "In throughout Harry Potter series we see Hermione is the giggler, Hermione the helpful and capable, Hermione the clever" (278). This all thing shows that she is more stronger female character because she can be all of these thing without losing herself.
Hermione is all way's sues her reason and logic in order to solve problems. She is more rational rather then other character. She always give answer whatever Ron ask to her. As the psychologist Gail Grynbaun states that "Hermione is repeated the truth - sleuth, comfortable in the library, who finds the clue that makes sense of the mystery at hand. She is always the one standing at a crossroads pointing the way".
So we can say that Hermione is such a character who did not give up in her life and kept on fighting for rights of equal right. She is became role model for woman because she works really hard.
Thank You...
